Despite having a horrible life before Orpheus she remained pragmatic and future focussed. I loved how he eventually felt secure about Reia and her feelings for him. His need to keep her safe and happy overcame even his most basic hunter instincts. His loneliness and fear that he will lose Reia, as he has lost so many before, is heartbreaking. Orpheus is adorable with his determination to provide Reia with anything she could possibly need. I initially read it on KU and then bought myself a kindle copy and a physical copy for my bookshelf. I absolutely adored this book and everything about it and the characters. She's not afraid of him, and his insatiable desire deepensīut will Orpheus be able to convince Reia to stay before she's lost to him forever? He'd thought it was a hopeless endeavour, until he met her. The brief companionship does little to ease his loneliness, and their lives were always, unfortunately, cut short.
